Renaud de Planta

Renaud de Planta (born November 15, 1963 in Geneva ; legal resident in Zuoz and Chur ) is a Swiss bank manager and private bank shareholder ( Pictet Group ).

Life

Renaud Fernand de Planta is the son of André de Planta and Muriel de Planta-Dominicé. von Planta is a well-known Swiss aristocratic family that comes from Graubünden . He grew up in Geneva. There he attended secondary school in the Collège Calvin and graduated with the Matura type A in June 1982. He studied economics at the University of St. Gallen, followed by a degree in management at the University of Chicago with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 1987. He continued his studies at the University of St. Gallen, where he obtained his doctorate Economics (Dr. oec.) In 1989.

Act

De Plantas started his career as an intern at the Swiss Bank Corporation in St. Gallen , followed by Energie Ouest Suisse in Lausanne and finally at the major bank UBS in Geneva. In February 1988 he started his first position at UBS in Zurich . This bank supported him during his doctoral thesis. He later became responsible for the Hong Kong and North Asia region, then was Global Head of Equity Derivatives Business at UBS Warburg in London . In 1998 he moved to the Pictet Group, where he became a partner from the time he joined . The Pictet Group is managed by a few shareholders / partners. Unlike typical commercial bank managers, there are differences in liability and compensation. Pictet's partners do not receive any salary. As the new longest-serving partner, Renaud de Planta was appointed Managing Partner of the Pictet Group on September 1, 2019. In this function he is the representative of the Pictet Group internally and externally. In the case of controversial decisions, he acts as primus inter pares and mediator in the team of equal partners.
