Renze Fij (born September 26, 1992 in Enschede ) is a Dutch football player. The goalkeeper is since the 2012/13 season in first division Heracles Almelo under contract.
Career
Fij came from the Enscheder amateur club vv Victoria '28 to the football academy of FC Twente , in which Heracles Almelo and the Go Ahead Eagles from Deventer are also involved. The players are therefore eligible to play for all three clubs. Fij made his debut in professional football for the Eagles when he was still an A-youth . On November 30, 2012, he sat on the bench in the Eerste Divisie game against Helmond Sport . When regular goalkeeper Remko Pasveer failed in the 76th minute - he had lost a tooth in a collision with an opponent - Fij had to go into the hosts' goal when the score was 2-1. Deventer won 3-2 and Fij suffered a goal from Mark Veldmate in the 90th minute . A little later he was signed by the Go Ahead Eagles, but did not play another league game for them.
In the 2011/2012 season Fij was with FC Groningen for a year, but after the season moved to Heracles Almelo together with Brian van Loo . In the 2012/13 season, Fij alternated with van Loo and the third goalkeeper Michael Brouwer in the second team Jong SC Heracles Almelo . Neither of them could endanger Remko Pasveer's regular place, Fij remained without a competitive game.
