Renzo Cerrato

Lorenzo Cerrato (born June 26, 1920 in Roccavignale , Province of Savona , † October 16, 2013 in Frascati , Province of Rome ) was an Italian film director and maker.

Life

Cerrato initially attended the Technical Institute for Geometry , but from 1949 devoted himself to the cinema in various tasks. From 1958 he was assistant director at u. a. William Dieterle and Carmine Gallone . In 1967 he went to France, where he worked, again in various functions, with numerous filmmakers such as Philippe de Broca , Robert Hossein and Gérard Oury . He co-directed a film about the agent OSS 117 .

Back in his homeland, Cerrato wrote a screenplay for a thriller in 1970 and made his only film as sole director in 1971, Violentata sulla sabbia , which was a minor success with audiences. After founding the Cerrato Compagnia Cinematografica , he also worked for television stations. Several of his own projects for the cinema were not published, however. In 2000 he took on a role as an actor in Paolo Benvenuti's Gostanza di Libbiano .
