The Rescue Nunatak (from English rescue for rescue ) is a Nunatak near the Oates coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the southern Lasarew Mountains, it rises 22 km south-southeast of Mount Martyn on the western flank of the upper section of the Matusevich Glacier .
Aerial photographs of the US Operation Highjump (1946-1947) and the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions from 1959 were used to map it. Participants in a campaign carried out from 1963 to 1964 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him. It is named after the rescue of a dog sled team from a neighboring crevasse under adverse conditions.
