Retaliatory Measures is a Finnish death and thrash metal band from Pori that was formed in 2009.
history
The band was founded in early 2009 by guitarist Kalle Hahtamo and singer Pessi Haltsonen. A first demo was released towards the end of the year. In the following year some minor line-up changes took place, after which the band consisted of the guitarist Janne Halima, the bassist Marko Mäkipanula and the drummer Iiro Aittokoski in addition to Hahtamo and Haltsonen. After the EP MMX was released in the same year , the group reached a contract with Massacre Records . In early 2012, the recordings for the debut album Withdrawal Syndromes began in the Ansa Studio in Ulvila , with Kalle Aaltonen working as a producer and the album being mixed and mastered by Jori Haukio . The album was released in October 2012. So far, the band had also played with groups such as Scar Symmetry , Before the Dawn and Dead Shape Figure and was live in Scandinavia and the Baltic States from 2009 to 2012 .
style
On Withdrawal Syndromes unusual topics are covered in part how the career of Mel Gibson or Dankung to an album sponsor. Martin Wickler from Metal Hammer described the album as a mixture of Death and Thrash Metal, but without lapsing into a "retro vibe" too much. Wickler assigned the vocals to Death Metal.
