Reuben O. Moon

Reuben Osborne Moon (born July 22, 1847 in Jobstown , Burlington County , New Jersey , †  October 25, 1919 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) was an American politician . Between 1903 and 1913 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Reuben Moon attended the public schools of his home country and then until 1874 the National School of Oratory in Philadelphia, where he then taught himself. After a subsequent law degree and his admission as a lawyer in 1884, he began to work in Philadelphia in this profession. He was also one of the founders of the Republican Party affiliated Columbia Club in Indianapolis , of which he was temporarily president. Moon himself also became a member of the Republicans.

After the death of MP Robert H. Foerderer , Moon was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC when he was due by-election for the fourth seat of Pennsylvania , where he took up his new mandate on November 3, 1903. After four re-elections, he could remain in Congress until March 3, 1913 . From 1905 to 1911 he was chairman of the committee for the revision of federal legislation.

In 1912, Reuben Moon was no longer nominated for re-election by his party. After his time in the US House of Representatives, he practiced as a lawyer again. He died in Philadelphia on October 25, 1919.
