history

On May 11, 1858, the masonic wreath Porta Hercynia was formed in Pforzheim , which led to the establishment of the Reuchlin Lodge on April 6, 1865 . Thus, the Reuchlin Lodge is the second oldest active Pforzheimer association after the Löblichen Singergesellschaft .

On October 21, 1896, the foundation stone for the Logenhaus in Werderstrasse was laid.

After Freemasonry was banned by the National Socialists in 1933, the lodge house was sold to the Evangelical Church in 1935 in order to avoid the threat of expropriation. It was destroyed on February 23, 1945 during an air raid on Pforzheim .

The lodge was reopened on November 27, 1946 with a founding meeting in the Hoheneck restaurant.

On May 24, 1983, Villa Becker was acquired by the city of Pforzheim for the new lodge house . 1985 to 1989 the villa was largely restored by the lodge members themselves and inaugurated on June 23, 1985 as a new lodge house.
