action

After the murder of her faithless husband Noboru and the attempted killing of his lover, the jealous Mayumi is sentenced to a long prison term in a dreaded women's prison. Shortly before her admission, the young beauty made an unsuccessful suicide attempt . In the penitentiary she then has to share a modest cell with six pious inmates.

Brute violence prevails in the prison: humiliation and torture are the order of the day. Furthermore, drifting sadistic guards there to mischief. The imprisoned women are subject to clear power structures, although disputes take place between the prisoners. Any disobedience is punished with draconian penalties.

When a fellow prisoner, Hamada, happened to be secretly watching the lustful prison director having a bizarre love game with the superintendent Kazuko and was later poisoned for it, the prisoners gradually found each other. Before that, those present were unable to live in social harmony.

At a different time, the tattooed Sahara, Noboru's secret lover, is transferred to prison to take revenge on Mayumi for life-threatening injuries. Before the two warring characters face each other, however, the humiliated superintendent instigates a prisoner revolt to hinder the career of her lover, the director, and to persuade him to remain in the institution.

The pent-up dissatisfaction is discharged into a shared hatred of the prison administration. At the end of the film, both the director and his supervisor are caught, humiliated and abused by the angry mob. In the last scene, a summoned special task force ends the uprising.
