Reynosa is a border town in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas . It has around 600,000 inhabitants and is located on the Rio Grande near the Texas city of McAllen . Reynosa, the administrative seat of the Municipio Reynosa , is connected to McAllen by two bridges.
Reynosa is the largest and most industrially important city in Tamaulipas. In particular, there are many maquiladoras in Reynosa and the surrounding area. The goods processed there are traded internationally, but mainly re-exported to the USA. In the traditionally important agriculture of the region, the most important products are cotton , sugar cane and fruit.
