Reza Shabani

Reza Shabani ( Persian رضا شعبانی Resa Schabani , * 1938 in Qazvin ) is an Iranian historian .

Life

Shabani received his PhD from the Sorbonne and specialized in contemporary Iranian history . He taught at the University of Cambridge for five years .

After that he was professor of history for 24 years in various institutions in Iran and Pakistan ( Islamabad ), but especially at the Shahid Beheschti University , where he held a leading position.

Shabani has published more than 200 articles in Persian , French and English and more than 20 books, several on the Afsharids .

In 2005 he published his Iranian History at a Glance in English .
