The Rhenusana ( original spelling rhenusana ) is a health insurance company based in Balgach, Switzerland . It represents around 11,000 policyholders. The premium income amounts to around CHF 40 million. This makes Rhenusana one of the medium-sized health insurance companies in Switzerland and works under the umbrella of the RVK - the association of small and medium-sized health insurance companies . The Rhenusana association employs around 20 people and is training two apprentices in 2020. The Rhenusana has offices in Balgach and Oberriet.

Field of activity

The core business is the compulsory basic insurance with 75 percent of the premium income. Various supplementary health insurances (25 percent of premium income) are also offered.

Partnerships

The fund is a partner of FC St. Gallen and also supports smaller clubs in the area. The company is a member of the RVK.

history

On March 18, 1944, the inaugural meeting of the "Company Health Insurance Fund of Sales AG Heinrich Wild's geodetic instruments" took place, at which it was decided to join the Swiss Company Health Insurance Association.

On May 1st, the fund started its activities with 705 founding members. Two months later, the government council of the canton of St. Gallen recognized the fund. In autumn 1944 it was recognized by the Federal Social Insurance Office.

The fund has been operating under the name rhenusana since 2006 .
