Rhipicentor (from ancient Greek rhiphis 'fan-like' and centeo 'sting') is a genus of ticks with two species: R. bicornis and R. nuttalli , the former being the type species . Both species are only found in Africa.

The back label is without drawing. The base of the capitulum is hexagonal with distinct lateral projections. The palps are short. Eyes and garland-like posterior lobes ( festoons ) are present. The hips of the first pair of legs are split in two in both sexes. The hips of the fourth pair of legs are the longest. The underside has no shields. Males resemble the genus Rhipicephalus on the upper side and the spotted ticks on the underside .
