Rhodes Icefall

The Rhodes Icefall is a glacier break in Marie Byrd Land in western Antarctica . It flows west out of McDonald Heights and breaks through the center of the Peden cliffs .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1959 and 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1974 after William L. Rhodes, head of the casualty rescue team at the William Field airfield on McMurdo Sound in operations Deep Freeze from 1968 to 1970.
