Ria Jende (born October 29, 1898 in Brussels , Belgium , † after April 1927) was a German-Belgian silent film actress and film producer .

Live and act

Ria Jende's life is largely hidden in the dark. She came to Germany from Belgium as a young girl and was brought in front of the camera by Oskar Messter before the First World War . Until the late phase of the war, however, she stayed away from film work after her debut and instead played theater. At times, as the short-lived film publicationDie Filmhölle ” reported, she is said to have worked as an assistant to a magician.

In 1917, Ria Jende resumed film work and for the next five years stood in front of the camera in a plethora of entertainment productions that were completely insignificant in terms of film history. With the film Madeleine she made her first experiences as a producer ( Jende Film ) in 1919 . Her husband Wilhelm Boecker founded the production company Ria Jende Film GmbH in June 1921 .

In 1922, the Brussels native largely withdrew from acting: "Ria Jende married and thus ended her artistic career", stated the " Revue of the Month " in April 1927. In the meantime, in 1926, she published a travelogue about Corsica in the May issue of the Berlin magazine “ Das Magazin ”. Further life dates are not known.
