Ricardo Wayne Gardner (born September 25, 1978 in St. Andrews, Jamaica ) is a Jamaican football player .

Career

Bibi, as he is called by his teammates, began his career at Harbor View FC in the Jamaican capital Kingston . The two-footed left defender moved to the Bolton Wanderers in England at the beginning of the 1998/99 season after he made a positive impression at the 1998 World Cup in France , where he immediately established himself in the regular formation and so far played over 300 league games.

National team

Gardner played 109 times for the Jamaican national soccer team and was able to score nine goals for the Jamaicans until he ended his international career after not qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. This puts him in second place on the list of Jamaicans with the most international matches.
