Riccardia is a genus thal solver , so non-exfoliated liverworts from the family aneuraceae . The genus is named after Octavius ​​Riccardi from Florence, a sponsor of Micheli's Nova plantarum genera (1729).

features

The thalli of these mosses are 0.2 to 2 millimeters wide and 1 to 10 centimeters long, thin, without a midrib, but with several layers of cells, not shiny, one- to three-pinnate or divided like antlers to palmate. All or at least some cells have 1 to 3 (less often up to 8) larger oil bodies, sometimes they are completely absent. Epidermal cells are smaller than the cells inside the thallus. The species are diocesan or monocy . The kalyptra is fleshy, without scales or hair, the seta is 4 cells thick in diameter. One to two-celled brood bodies are also formed.
