Dick Attlesey

Dick Attlesey (actually Richard Attlesey * 10. May 1929 in Compton , California ; † 14. October 1984 in Los Angeles County ) was an American hurdler , which refers to the meter 110 distance had and specialized for its Sprint strength also was used in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

In 1950 he set a world record on June 24 at the US championship with 13.6 s, which he improved on July 10 in Helsinki to 13.5 s.

In 1951 he won the Pan American Games in Buenos Aires over 110 meter hurdles and with the US 4 x 100 meter relay. In the same year he defended his US title.

In 1950 he was starting NCAA champion over 120 yard hurdles for the University of Southern California .
