Richard Bluff (* 20th century ) is a special effects artist .

Career

Richard Bluff has been with Industrial Light & Magic since 2003 and started his career in the film business as a digital matte painter . In this area he worked a. a. in the films Van Helsing , Hidalgo - 3000 Miles to Fame , The Island , Transformers and Avatar - Departure for Pandora . He later switched to special effects and was involved in the works Lucy , The Big Short and Doctor Strange , in the digital integration of special effects. For the latter film he received an Oscar nomination at theAcademy Awards 2017 in the category Best Visual Effects , together with his colleagues Stéphane Ceretti , Vincent Cirelli and Paul Corbould . The award went to the team at The Jungle Book . Furthermore, Bluff and his colleagues received a nomination at the BAFTA Awards in the same category.
