Richard Fischer (politician, 1870)
Richard Fischer (born December 12, 1870 in Lonnewitz , † January 31, 1926 in Saalfeld ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( SPD ).
Life and work
After attending elementary school, Fischer completed an apprenticeship as a basket maker from 1885 to 1888. From 1909 he worked as a coal trader in Saalfeld. In addition, he was a union member and was chairman of the Saalfeld union cartel from 1898 to 1914.
politics
Fischer joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) during the German Empire and was a member of the state parliament of the Duchy of Saxony-Meiningen from 1909 to 1918 . After the November Revolution , he was a member of the state parliament in the Free State of Saxony-Meiningen from 1919 to 1920 . At the same time he was a member of the People's Council for Thuringia. Following the formation of the state of Thuringia , he was a member of the local state parliament from 1921 to 1924 .
