Richard Guldan

Richard Guldan (born April 21, 1901 in Mirschikau , Bohemia ; † July 3, 1955 in Hanover , Lower Saxony ) was a German engineer and university professor .

Life

Guldan attended high school in Budweis . In 1925 he passed his second state examination in civil engineering at the German Technical University in Prague . He then worked there until 1928 as a scientific assistant at the Geodetic Institute near Nowak. From 1928 to 1936 he was a research assistant at the chair for concrete construction. During this time he passed his second state examination in surveying engineering at the German Technical University in Brno in 1920 .

In 1931 he was awarded a doctorate at the DTH Brno. techn. obtained his doctorate and held teaching positions in 1931/1932 . In 1934 he completed his habilitation at the DTH Prague for concrete and reinforced concrete construction .

In 1936 he went into business for himself with his own engineering office. In 1941 he was appointed associate professor at the DTH Prague. In 1947 he took over the representation of the chair for statics and building construction at the Technical University of Hanover and was appointed full professor there in 1949.

He died at the age of 54 after a serious illness in Hanover.
