Richard Kolewe

Richard Heinrich Wilhelm Kolewe ( December 19, 1853 - November 10, 1943 ) was a Prussian infantry general .

Life

Kolewe took part in the war against France in 1870/71 . In the further course of his military career in the Prussian Army , he was commander of the 4th Division in Bromberg from April 1, 1909 . With the approval of his resignation request, he was put up for disposal on February 13, 1912 with the statutory pension .

At the beginning of the First World War , Kolewe was reused as a zD officer and acted as governor of the city of Liege in Belgium . He later led, among other things, as commander from November 7, 1914 to July 18, 1915 the 3rd Reserve Division in the winter battle in Masuria on the Eastern Front.
