Richard Loo

Richard Loo (born October 1, 1903 in Maui , Hawaii , † November 20, 1983 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor of Chinese origin.

Life

At the age of 27, Loo started his acting career with a small supporting role in Frank Capra's adventure film The Airship . He was quickly established on rulers and embodied numerous kings and emperors. Loo starred in more than forty films, such as Mr. Moto and the China Treasure , Malaya , Hell of Korea , Meeting Point Hong Kong , The Doom of General Yen , Adventure in Panama , The Road to Morocco , Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven , The Hong Kong death trap , around the world in 80 days and gunboat on the Yangtze River . Often it was a question of war films. In the 1950s he was also seen on Broadway , including in the musical South Pacific . Before starring in Bond in The Man with the Golden Gun , the actor developed skin cancer , so he had to retire from the industry after that film. He played a multimillionaire named Hai Fat in the James Bond film. Loo died on November 20, 1983 at the age of 80.
