Richard Emil "Bob" Schlesinger (born September 23, 1900 in Melbourne ; † unknown) was an Australian tennis player . His greatest successes were the finals in 1924 and 1929 in singles and in 1925 in mixed at the tournament known today as the Australian Open .

Career

Between 1924 and 1933 Schlesinger took part in the Australasian championships (until 1926) and Australian championships (from 1927). In singles he reached the finals in 1924 and 1929 and was eliminated in the semifinals in 1925, 1926 and 1928. His greatest successes in doubles were the semi-finals in 1926, 1927 and 1929; in the mixed competition he reached the finals in 1925 with his partner Sylvia Lance Harper . In addition, Schlesinger took part in 1923 and 1924 in the individual competition of the US National Championships , where he did not get beyond the round of the last 64.

In July 1923 Schlesinger played a match for the Australian Davis Cup team , which he lost to the Hawaiian William Eklund .
