Richard Arland Ussher (born June 19, 1976 in Wellington ) is a former triathlete and multi-athlete from New Zealand . He is an Olympian (1998) and is included in the best list of New Zealand triathletes on the Ironman distance .

Career

1998 Winter Olympics

In 1998 he competed in the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in freestyle skiing and reached the 25th place.

In 2007 he reached fourth place at the OTU Winter Triathlon Oceania Championships in Queenstown .

In 2008 he announced his move from multisport to long-distance triathlon. In July 2009 he finished third at the Challenge Roth - with the fastest time for a New Zealander on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

In September 2009 he finished eighth in the world championship on the long distance duathlon in Switzerland.

In January 2011 he announced that he would no longer start in triathlon competitions and wanted to concentrate on multisport again.
