Richarlyson Affair

He became widely known in 2007 after a controversy that dispelled doubts about his sexual orientation. The president of the Palmeiras club accused Richarlyson of being gay . Richarlyson then sued him for defamation and denied his homosexuality . Judge Junqueira Filho dismissed the lawsuit on the grounds: "If Richarlyson is gay, then he has no business in football, if he is not gay, he can defend himself on television." He also added that gays should set up their own teams and championships to keep football consistent because it's a male game, after all. After the Supreme Court wanted to get a statement from the judge, the judge said goodbye to indefinitely on vacation.
