Richland Township is one of 13 townships of Clinton County in the US state of Ohio . According to the census in 2000 , 3758 inhabitants were registered here.

Richland Township is located in the extreme northeast of Clinton County in mid-southwest Ohio and is bordered clockwise by the townships: Jasper Township in Fayette County , Concord Township (Fayette County), Wayne Township , Green Township , Union Township, and Wilson Township .
history
Richland Township was formed on April 6, 1810, and was one of the county's three original townships. On August 13, 1813, the borders were redrawn and the Green Township was formed from it, as well as part of the Union Township. On July 15, 1817, the Liberty Township was formed from another part, the Wayne Township in March 1837 and the Wislon Township from the former Richland Township in August 1850.

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two people are elected in the year after the presidential election and one in the year before. The term of office usually lasts four years and begins on January 1st. There is also a township clerk (responsible for finances and budget), which is also elected for a four-year term in the year before the presidential election. His term of office begins on April 1st.
