Rico Braun (born September 29, 1997 in Würzburg , Bavaria ) is a German sword fencer and German champion .
life and career
The Tauberbischofsheimer Rico Brown made in 2017 graduated from high school at Wirtschaftsgymnasium the Mercantile School Tauberbischofsheim . He has been fighting for the Tauberbischofsheim fencing club at the Olympic base there since 2007 .
Braun achieved his first major sporting success in the epee singles with a 15:11 final victory over the Hungarian Gergely Siklosi at the 2014 Cadet European Championships in Jerusalem . At the 2015 World Junior Championships in Tashkent , he returned as a member of the men's epee team with the gold medal. As a result, Braun was appointed to the national team for active epee fencing in 2016 as the first junior fencer in 20 years.
At the 2017 European Junior Championships in Plovdiv , Bulgaria , the fencer from Tauberbischofsheim made it onto the podium again by winning the bronze medal in the epee singles.
At the German fencing championships 2018 , Braun was able to become German champions with the epee team. In the same year he achieved the bronze medal at the German championships in the epee singles.
