Course of the road

The Ridgley Highway is a trunk road in the northwest of the Australian state of Tasmania . It connects the Murchison Highway (A10) south of the Hellyer Gorge with the city of Burnie on the north coast.

The road begins at the junction with the Murchison Highway as an extension of Mount Road (B23) to the northeast. It runs essentially parallel to the Murchison Highway, but 10-15 km further east. It runs through bushland to the settlement of Hampshire and crosses the Hellyer River . Via Highclere it leads in the valley of the Guide River and along the west bank of the Pet Reservoir to Ridgley .
Finally, the road connects Ridgley to Burnie town on the Bass Highway (N1).
