The Rifugio Ernesto Tazzetti ( 2642  m slm ) is a mountain hut in the Graian Alps in the northern Italian metropolitan city of Turin / Piedmont region . The Rifugio of the Club Alpino Italiano (CAI) belongs to the municipality of Usseglio and is located at the head of the Valle di Viù above Lake Malciaussia.

history

The rifugio was built as Rifugio Fons' d Rumur al Rocciamelone in 1913 by the Turin section of the CAI. In 1933 it was named after the doctor and alpinist Ernesto Tazzetti, who had a fatal accident in 1927. The rifugio has been expanded and modernized several times, most recently in 1998.
