The Rifugio Fiorasca ( German : Fiorascahütte) is a self-catering hut in the municipality of Fontana in the Valle di Larèchia, a side valley of the Bavona valley in the Ticino Alps . It belongs to the Società Alpinistica Valmaggese (SAV), which is part of the Ticino umbrella organization Federazione Alpinistica Ticinese (FAT).

The hut is located at 2086  m above sea level. M. in a side valley of the Val Bavona . It consists of five small buildings from Alp Fiorasca, donated in 2003 by SAV members Romildo and Vittorio Dalessi and restored from 2004 to 2006.

One of the buildings has a kitchen with running water and a gas and wood stove. Cookware and basic groceries are available. A second hut has 10 beds with duvets. A third building can be rented to families and small groups for a short time. A fourth building is equipped with showers and toilets. A fifth building is used as a museum with objects and tools of life on the alp. Outside there are tables and a fountain.

The hut is on stage R90 of the Via Alpina , which goes from Prato-Sornico ( 745  m above sea level ) via the Bocchetta di Fiorasca ( 2289  m above sea level ) to Fontana (Val Bovana) ( 623  m above sea level). ) leads.

Approach

  • From the Alpe Brünesc ( 1427  m above sea level ) in Val Lavizzara , the hut can be reached in 3 hours of walking over the Bocchetta di Fiorasca (difficulty level T3). A road leads from Broglio to Alpe Brünesc.
  • From Fontana ( 600  m above sea level ) in Val Bavona in 5 hours (T3). Fontana can be reached by public transport in summer.
