The Rifugio Perucca-Vuillermoz is a refuge in the Aosta Valley in the Valais Alps . It is located at an altitude of 2909  m slm in the Valtournenche side valley near the Lago del Dragone within the municipality of Valtournenche . The hut is managed from the beginning of July to the end of August and during this time offers 25 mountaineers sleeping places.

Ascent

The ascent to the hut begins in the Valmartin district ( 1495  m ) very close to Valtournenche and initially leads over part of the Alta via della Val d'Aosta n.1 long-distance trail to the artificially dammed Lake Cignana ( 2158  m ). Not far from the ascent path at the other end of the dam is the Rifugio Barmasse , which can be reached in around 1½ hours. First you go along the right bank of the lake and then climb up to the hut at a considerable distance from the Torrent Cignana.

A 4-hour ascent is assumed for the route, which does not present any technical difficulties. Alternatively, the climb can also be made from Perrères.

history

The refuge was inaugurated in 1990 and is therefore an alternative to the nearby Bivaccho Ducchio Manenti bivouac box.

It is dedicated to the mountaineers Piergiorgio Perucca and Corrado Vuillermoz, who died on September 17, 1985 on Liskamm with 4 other comrades.
