Kathog Rigdzin Chenpo Tshewang Norbu

Kathog Rigdzin Chenpo Tshewang Norbu ( Tib . : ka thog rig 'dzin chen po tshe dbang nor bu ; * 1698 ; † 1755 ) was an important clergyman of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism from the Kathog Monastery in Eastern Tibet. He is the author of an important handwritten genealogy of the rulers of Gungthang (or Ngari Me Gungthang or Mangyül Gungthang , with the center in Gyirong (Kyirong)) (from 1749), the Gung thang rgyal rabs in 1752 from the 7th Dalai Lama to Ladakh sent to the conflict between the kingdoms Purig and Ladakh to solve.

He conveyed the view of the " Shentong " (Tib. Zhentong | gzhan stong ) to Situ Penchen (1700–1774) and founded a branch of the Kathog monastery in Sikkim .
