Right There is a song by the American singer Nicole Scherzinger from her debut album Killer Love (2011). The song was written and composed by Ester Dean , Frank Romano and Daniel Morris. Musically, the song contains influences from Caribbean pop music . In the song Scherzinger sings about her lover. She wants to have him to herself and the other women should stay away from their lovers. On May 17, 2011, the song was released in the United States. In addition, the song 50 Cent acts as a guest rapper.

After their successful hits Poison and Don't Hold Your Breath , Scherzinger decided to release another song as a single. Scherzinger recorded new songs for the American release of Killer Love . Right There was written by Ester Dean , Frank Romano and Daniel Morris and produced by Jim Jonsin. David Griffiths of 4 Music compared Right There to Rihanna's number one hit, Rude Boy, from 2009, but he called the song more neatly compared to Rude Boy , where Rihanna sings about sex and drugs. Rude Boy and Right There were both written by Ester Dean.

Charts

In the UK, the original version of the song made its debut without 50 cents in the UK charts at number 58. In the fourth week, the song jumped from 14 to number 3, the song's highest position. The song sold over 51,000 downloads after Scherzinger previously appeared in the finals of Britain's Got Talent and the Graham Norton Show . In the UK, the song was Scherzinger's third top 3 single in a row.

In the United States, Right There debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on June 4, 2011 at number 77. In its first week, the song sold 29,000 download units. In the ninth week, the song jumped from number 52 to number 39, making the song Scherzinger's most successful release in the United States.

Music video

The music video for Right There was filmed on April 20 and 21 in Los Angeles , directed by Paul Hunter, who already shot the music video for Whatever You Like with Scherzinger . The music video had its world premiere at Vevo.com on May 4, 2011. In the music video, Scherzinger, lightly dressed, performs many dance choreographies, such as Hawaiian dances and Hule dances. Four background dancers accompany Scherzinger in the dance choreographies, making the music video comparable to those of Scherzinger's girl group The Pussycat Dolls . 50 Cent raps in the music video and is danced to by Scherzinger a few times.
