Rikihiro Sugiyama ( Japanese 杉山 力 裕 , Sugiyama Rikihiro ; born May 1, 1987 in Shizuoka , Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Rikihiro Sugiyama learned to play soccer on the school team at Shizuoka Gakuen High School . The goalkeeper signed his first professional contract in 2006 with Kawasaki Frontale . The club from Kawasaki , a city on the Japanese main island of Honshu in the northeast of Kanagawa Prefecture , played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 2006, 2008 and 2009 he was runner-up with Frontale. In 2009 he was with Frontale in the final of the J. League Cup . They lost the final 2-0 against FC Tokyo . After 44 first division games, he moved to league competitor Shimizu S-Pulse in 2015 . At the end of 2015 he had to relegate to the second division with Shimizu. The following year he was runner-up in the J2 League and rose straight back to the first division. After two years, he left the first division and joined the second division Avispa Fukuoka from Fukuoka in early 2017 .
