Rimbach is a district of Bornhagen in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .
history
Rimbach was first mentioned in a document on April 2, 1371. The district, laid out under Hanstein Castle on the central southern slope, was founded by craftsmen, servants and merchants who settled under the castle to serve those of Hanstein .
On April 1, 1936, the village of Rimbach was incorporated into the Bornhagen community. Due to the proximity to the inner-German border , the residents of Rimbach had to bow to the border protection measures of the GDR . Now the area around the Hanstein is a place for excursions.
