Rimvydas Valatka

Rimvydas Valatka (* 19th December 1956 in Shamanka, Rajon Irkutsk , Irkutsk Oblast ) is a Lithuanian journalist , chief editor of the weekly and former politician (Member of the Seimas ).

Life

After graduation in 1975 at the middle school in the spa town Palanga on the Baltic Sea Valatka completed the diploma in 1980 story on Pedagoginis institutas (CPI) in Vilnius and was a teacher . From 1978 to 1987 he was a laboratory assistant and editor of the newspaper "Tarybinis pedagogas" at the VPI in Vilnius. From 1982 to 1983 he worked as a correspondent for the farmers' newspaper Valstiečių laikraštis . From 1992 to 2012 he was the deputy editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper “ Lietuvos rytas ” and editor of the Internet portal LRytas.lt .

From 2012 to 2015 he was editor-in-chief of the weekly " 15min " in Vilnius . In May he was an advisor to the Lietuvos Respublikos Liberalų sąjūdis party in relation to the 2016 parliamentary elections in Lithuania . From May 2015 he writes comments for the Internet portal Delfi . From July 2015 to March 2016 he was editor-in-chief of the Lithuanian news magazine Veidas and director of the media company.

He was a member of the Seimas .
