Rio Maholtra (born December 28, 1993 ) is an Indonesian hurdler who specializes in the 110-meter distance .

Athletic career

Rio Maholtra gained his first international experience in 2011 when he finished eighth in the Southeast Asian Games in Palembang in 15.00 s. The following year he retired from the Junior Asian Championships in Colombo with 14.55 s in the first round and then also took part in the Junior World Championships in Barcelona , where he also retired with 14.16 s in the lead. In 2014 he took part in the 60-meter hurdles at the Indoor Asian Championships in Hangzhou , where he finished seventh in 8.27 seconds. The following year he could not finish his final run at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore and then he was eliminated at the Military World Games in Mungyeon, South Korea, with 14.51s in the first round and also made it to the Indonesian 4 x 100 meter relay 41.15 s not into the final.

In 2017 he was eliminated from the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar with 14.08 s in the preliminary round and the following year he was eliminated from the preliminary round at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham with 7.98 s over 60 m hurdles. At the end of August he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and set a new national record there with 14.02 s, but was eliminated in the first round. In 2019 he reached seventh place in the World Military Games in Wuhan in 14.12 s and then finished fourth in 14.06 s at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas .

In 2017 and 2019, Maholtra became Indonesian champion in the 110-meter hurdles.
