Rita Grosse-Ruyken

Rita Maria Walburga Grosse-Ruyken (born November 29, 1948 in Donauwörth ) is a German goldsmith and sculptor . She designed u. a. Indoor installations with light and sound.

Career

Grosse-Ruyken grew up on a Einsiedelhof near Donauwörth. After graduating from high school, she lived in south-west France and studied modern philology at the LMU in Munich between 1970 and 1972 .

From 1971 to 1977 she studied goldsmithing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Franz Rickert and Hermann Jünger , as well as philosophy of aesthetics and symbolic forms with Aloys Goergen and painting with Günter Fruhtrunk . As part of the DAAD  , she studied in Paris in 1977/1978 at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris . She completed her studies with the state examination in art education and the academic university diploma in goldsmithing .

Back in Germany, she has been working as a freelance artist since autumn 1978, and since 1983 she has dealt with transparency, color, light and movement in sculptures. Objects by Rita Grosse-Ruyken have been part of the holdings of the international design museum Die Neue Sammlung at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, the Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin and the Museum of Applied Arts, MAK Frankfurt a. M.

She has been producing art films since 2008. She is a member of the Deutscher Künstlerbund e. V. Berlin.
