Manor house of the Ohr manor

The Rittergut Ohr is located in the district of Ohr in the municipality of Emmerthal in Lower Saxony , south of Hameln between the Weser and the B 83 . The manor , established in the Middle Ages , has been owned by the von Hake family since 1307 . The farm is mainly because of its 45-hectare Ohrberg parks known, which is within sight of the manor on the Ohrberg.

history

The time the property was built is not known. It has been in the possession of the von Hake men since 1307 at the latest. However, an earlier origin is possible as the family has been recorded in the Emmerthal area since the 12th century. Even in the following centuries after the manor was built, nothing more is known about the complex.

The mansion was built from 1847 to 1849 according to plans by the Hanoverian architect Laves . After it burned down in 1871, it was rebuilt in the classical style in 1872 by the Hanoverian architect Peters . This resulted in a two-storey plastered solid building with a hipped roof , which is now a listed building. The lavishly designed terrace area is a special feature.

The manor house of the estate, built in the classical style, dates from the middle of the 19th century. The farm buildings to the east of the manor house were built between 1827 and 1832 and were structurally altered several times. There is an estate chapel on the estate . This is a hall building with a plastered facade, built from rubble stones from 1595 to 1610 under Hieronymus von Hake.

In 2007, 2011 and 2016, the German Foundation for Monument Protection provided the owner of the manor Dietrich Freiherr von Hake with funds for renovation work. An estate gardening is operated on the manor.
