The Yare is a river in Norfolk , England , United Kingdom. It rises in the south of Dereham in Norfolk. From there it always flows eastwards. On his way he passes Barnham Broom and the southern foothills of the city of Norwich , where the River Tiffey flows into. From this point the river covers another 25 kilometers to the North Sea. The rivers River Wensum , River Chet , River Bure and River Waveney also flow into the River Yare. The river flows into the North Sea at Gorleston-on-Sea near Great Yarmouth .

The river is partially navigable. Today, small sailing ships use the Yare, as it connects Norwich with the North Sea and thus creates optimal conditions for the practice of sailing. In the past, many goods were shipped from the North Sea coast to Norwich on the Yare.
