Rivière Pontax is a river in the Canadian province of Québec .
The river flows through the Jamésie region in the administrative region of North du Québec for a length of 193 km (according to other sources 210 km) .
The Rivière Pontax has its origins in Lake Lac Champion . From there it flows in a westerly direction to Rupert Bay in the extreme south of James Bay , where it has its mouth a few kilometers north of the Rivière Rupert .
