The Rivière Washicoutai is a tributary of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence in the Canadian province of Québec .

The Rivière Washicoutai rises north of Lac Goyelle in the MRC Le Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent in the east of the administrative region of Côte-Nord . The river drains an area rich in lakes in the hinterland of the south coast of the Labrador Peninsula . It flows through the lakes Lac Goyelle, Lac Cauchy , Lac Caumont and Lac Washicoutai . Finally he reaches the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Rivière Olomane flows into the sea 15 km to the east .

The Rivière Washicoutai has a length of 103 km. Its catchment area covers 1536 km². The mean discharge is given as just under 50 m³ / s.

The Rivière Washicoutai is developed for tourism through a Pourvoirie ( Lodge ). Canoeing and fishing activities are offered between mid-June and late August . The following types of fish can be fished in the river system of the Rivière Washicoutai: Arctic char , Atlantic salmon , fish from a land-based population of Atlantic salmon and brook char .
