The Rivière au Castor ( French for " beaver river") is a tributary of the Hudson Bay in the Canadian province of Québec .
The river runs in the Jamésie about 40 km south of the lower reaches of the river La Grande Rivière . The reservoir Réservoir Robert-Bourassa was created by damming the La Grande Rivière and other neighboring rivers such as the Rivière au Castor. The upper reaches of the river and its catchment area are now part of the reservoir. The remaining course of the river begins below the dike. It leads through Lake Kowskatehkakmow and continues in a predominantly westerly direction. From the right the outflow of the 97 km² large lake Lac Duncan flows to the river . After 116 km he reaches Hudson Bay. The catchment area of the river covers 3004 km².
