Rivka Michaeli ( Hebrew רבקה מיכאלי; born April 14, 1938 in Jerusalem , League of Nations Mandate for Palestine ) is an Israeli actress , singer , comedian , radio and television presenter .

biography

Rivka Michaeli grew up in Jerusalem as the daughter of a lawyer and a translator. As a teenager, she first appeared on radio broadcasts. She did her military service at the Galei Zahal broadcaster and was then a radio presenter on various Kol Israel programs for years . In 1964 she hosted an entertainment program "Heavy Childhood" with Yossi Banai and also presented Miss Israel's election events . Naomi Shemer , who wrote the song Yerushalayim schel sahav in 1967 , mentions that the second verse, which is about the old city of Jerusalem , was inspired by Michaeli. In the 1980s and early 1990s she hosted the show Siba l'messiba ("A reason for a party"), which became the most popular Friday evening TV show nationwide, as well as the follow-up show Sof schawua ("Weekend"). She also appeared in the Habimah and Cameri Theater , took on roles in 16 films, including Uri Zohar and Assi Dajan and as a cleaning lady in the blue milk channel by Ephraim Kishon , recorded albums with children's songs and presented the Eurovision twice - in 1986 and 1988 - preliminary decision .
