The Roßberg is 477 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Steigerwald . It is located in the eastern part of the Kitzingen district in Lower Franconia .
Geographical location
The Roßberg is slightly higher than the neighboring mountain ranges such as the Schießberg (455 m) or Wolfsberg (429 m). In addition, it protrudes far into the flatter landscape in front of it, which is around 100 meters lower. This makes the mountain look very striking, especially from the west side and can be seen from afar. Birklingen is at the foot of the mountain .
Wind power
For a long time it was considered whether the Roßberg was a suitable place for a wind turbine . Local spokesman Wolfgang Schwab said: "I am and will remain against wind turbines in Birklingen ". The facilities can be seen far too far when the Roßberg is being built on. He announced a dramatic situation for Birklingen, because the Steigerwald is no longer a nature park with wind turbines .
