Robert Aspöck

Robert Aspöck (born June 23, 1943 in Salzburg ; † March 7, 2018 there ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician . Robert Aspöck represented the FPÖ in the Federal Council between 1999 and 2004 and was a member of the Austrian National Council between 2006 and 2008 .

education and profession

Robert Aspöck completed his school career entirely in the city of Salzburg, where he attended elementary school, the academic high school and the secondary school for working people, which Aspöck graduated with the Matura in 1967 . Then began studying law at the University of Salzburg , where he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . Aspöck then started his professional career as an assistant at the Institute for International Law at the University of Salzburg, from 1975 to 1979 he was a trainee lawyer . Aspöck has been working as an independent lawyer in Salzburg since 1979.

Political career

Aspöck got involved with the Ring of Freedom Students during his studies and was chairman of the Freedom Academic Association of Salzburg from 1978 to 1983 . In 1979 he was chairman of the working group of freedom academic associations in Austria. As early as 1977, Aspöck represented the FPÖ in the municipal council of the city of Salzburg and in 1980 moved to the Salzburg state parliament , where he worked until 1983. After a long period without a higher political mandate, Aspöck represented the FPÖ in the Federal Council from 1999. In 2004, however, this mandate was lost due to the FPÖ Salzburg's defeat in the elections. As a result, Aspöck was a member of the National Council between October 30, 2006 and October 27, 2008, where he held a mandate from the Salzburg electoral district .
