Robert Etcheverry

Robert Etcheverry (born January 30, 1937 in Nanterre , Hauts-de-Seine , † November 21, 2007 in Paris ) was a French actor of Basque descent. In Germany he was best known for the role of Arpad in the television series Arpad, the Gypsies . The actor Michel Etcheverry (known from The Milky Way and I for Icarus ) was his cousin.

biography

After completing his studies, he received an engagement at the Comédie-Française . His film career began in the early 1960s, where he mainly starred in historical adventure series and films. In 1961 he made his film debut alongside Alida Valli in the film La Fille du Torrent . In the thirteen-part series The Adventures of the Chevalier de Recci from 1967, he fought in the role of Francois Recci together with his faithful companion Guillot ( Jacques Balutin ) during the War of Mantuan Succession against Spain. In 1968 he played the smuggler Gorri in the television series Gorri le diable , who was charged in the 19th century with a murder he did not commit. In 1972 he was in the television series Poly and the Black Diamond and between 1973 and 1975 in the series Les Mohicans de Paris . The adventure series Arpad, the Gypsy , a Franco-German-Hungarian co-production followed between 1973 and 1974 , which Etcheverry made a short-term star in Germany. In 1975 he played the role of Arpad again in the German feature film Arpad - Two devil guys clean up .

In the period that followed, his success was limited to French television.
