Robert Göldlin of Tiefenau
Robert Ulrich Johann Baptist Göldlin von Tiefenau (born August 24, 1832 in Lucerne ; † October 28, 1903 there ) was a Swiss military doctor .
Life
Born the son of the majors in the Dutch service Franz Bernard Göldlin of Tiefenau and Karolina Luthiger studied Robert Göldlin at the Universities Zurich and Würzburg medicine . In Zurich he joined the Corps Tigurinia in 1852 .
After practicing in Lucerne and Weggis in 1858 and 1859, he joined the 4th Swiss regiment in the Neapolitan service as a junior doctor in 1859. During the siege of Gaeta in 1860 , he was senior physician in the 1st Foreign Battalion. He then practiced as a hospital doctor in Lucerne. In 1882 he was appointed chief instructor of the federal medical forces and promoted to colonel in 1883.
Awards
- In 1861 Robert Göldlin was awarded the Gaeta medal.
