Robert III de La Marck

Robert III de La Marck (German: Robert III. von der Mark ; * 1492 or 1493 in Sedan ; † December 21, 1536 in Longjumeau ) was Marshal of France from 1526 .

Robert III was born as the first son of Robert II. de La Marck and his wife Catherine de Croÿ. At Easter 1510 he married in Vigny Guillemette von Saarbrücken († September 20, 1571). From the marriage in 1512 the son Robert IV emerged.

He took part in the Battle of Novara in 1513 , in which his father saved his life. In 1525 he was captured in the Battle of Pavia . He was made Marshal of France in 1526 and died in 1537.

He wrote memoirs between 1519 and 1521 , which were published in 1753.
