Robert IV de La Marck

Robert IV. De La Marck (German: Robert IV. Von der Mark ; * January 15, 1512 in Sedan , † 1556 in Guise ) was Lord of Sedan and from July 1552 Duke of Bouillon . From 1547 he held the post of Marshal of France .

Life

He was the son of Robert III. de La Marck and the guillemette of Saarbrücken.

On November 8, 1538 he married Françoise de Brézé, Countess of Maulévrier from the House of Brézé , the daughter of Diane de Poitiers '. The marriage resulted in a total of nine children.

Through the intercession of his mother-in-law, Robert IV became Marshal of France in 1547 , but in 1556 he was poisoned on the orders of Charles V.
